Vista · Hunter Douglas — roller, wooden and motorised blinds.

About this category

Block the glare. Frame the view.

We stock the full range — roller blinds, zebra blinds, wooden venetians, cellular shades and blackout options from Vista, Hunter Douglas, Hunter S3 and Marvel. Between these four brands, every window type is covered, from small bathroom frosted to full floor-to-ceiling blackout for home theatres.

Motorised systems — remote, app and home-automation compatible — are available across most ranges. Our team measures every window, supplies the blind and installs it, including motorised wiring. Most blind projects complete within 2–3 weeks.

Types available

Six ways to control the light.

01

Roller Blinds

A single piece of stiffened fabric rolls neatly onto a head-rail tube at the top of the window, creating a clean, flat surface when down that integrates with modern and minimal interiors without visual clutter. Fabric choice determines the light level: sheer (translucent, filters glare while maintaining view), dim-out (reduces light by approximately 85%), or blackout (near-total block). Available in a very wide range of widths; windows wider than 3m typically use a split configuration with two blinds meeting in the centre. The most commonly specified blind type across residential and commercial projects — simple to operate, easy to clean, and available in a huge range of colours and textures from Vista and Hunter Douglas.

Roller Blinds
02

Zebra / Day-Night

Two layers of alternating sheer and opaque horizontal bands on a single fabric roll. When the bands align — sheer against sheer, opaque against opaque — the blind is fully open and lets maximum light through. Shift the layers slightly so sheer meets opaque and they combine to block light like a solid blind. Any level of privacy and light between fully open and fully closed is achievable by stopping the adjustment at the desired point. More versatile than a standard roller blind and the visible layered texture adds visual interest to the window from inside and outside. Available in a wide range of fabric colours and weights; motorised versions are particularly popular for large or frequently adjusted windows.

03

Wooden Venetian

Horizontal timber slats — typically 25mm or 50mm wide — suspended on ladder tapes and a lift cord. The slats tilt to any angle from fully open (horizontal, maximum light and view) to fully closed (angled to block light while preserving some airflow). The entire blind can also be stacked to the top to clear the window entirely. Real wood gives a warmth that no synthetic window treatment matches — natural grain variation means no two blinds are identical. Available in natural, stained (walnut, oak, mahogany), and painted finishes. One important limitation: wooden venetians warp in sustained humidity, so avoid bathrooms and kitchens and use a PVC faux-wood alternative in those rooms instead.

Wooden Venetian
04

Cellular / Honeycomb

Fabric folded into hollow hexagonal tubes, with each cell trapping a pocket of still air between the window glass and the room. When light strikes the blind, the cells diffuse it into a soft glow rather than transmitting harsh direct light. The trapped air provides meaningful insulation, which reduces heat gain through west and south-facing windows during Mumbai's summer afternoons and can lower air-conditioning load noticeably. Single-cell is the standard configuration; double-cell offers better insulation and more effective light filtering. Available in translucent, dim-out, and blackout fabrics; the blackout variant is highly effective in children's rooms when paired with a tight-fitting installation to the window reveal.

Blackout Blinds

Unlike a standard blackout roller blind that still allows narrow light gaps along the sides and bottom, a true blackout blind system uses aluminium side-channel guides that the fabric slides into, sealing the edge gap and achieving 99%+ light block even in direct afternoon sun. Available in roller and cassette configurations; the cassette version also encloses the rolled-up fabric at the top for a fully finished look. Essential for nurseries and children's bedrooms where morning light causes early waking, home cinemas where screen contrast depends on complete darkness, and the bedrooms of shift workers who sleep during the day. Our team installs the channel guides precisely to the window reveal for a neat, fitted result.

Motorised Blinds

A tubular motor housed in the head-rail drives the blind up and down; powered by either a rechargeable battery (no wiring, charged via USB every few months) or a mains connection for permanent power. Controls include a radio remote handset, a wall-mounted switch, a smartphone app, and voice commands via Alexa and Google Home. Multiple blinds across a room or an entire floor can be grouped to a single scene command — particularly useful for large open-plan spaces or floor-to-ceiling glazing. Also the recommended solution for high or awkward windows and for users with mobility requirements. Our installation includes motor programming, app setup, and a full demonstration before handover. Available across our full roller, zebra, and cellular ranges from Vista and Hunter Douglas.
